Humidification for plastic processing

The problems caused by static shocks are easily avoided!

Static electricity is a common problem when processing plastics: materials stick together and electrostatic discharge causes sparks and shocks. This is not only a problem for the personnel but can also result in unworkable situations and even pose a fire risk.

Avoid static discharge with the correct humidity

CAPACITY

Materials become statically charged due to friction and, when the humidity is too low, the charge is unable to dissipate and sparks form. Static electricity is created by friction. As two surfaces brush against each other electrons may move across, creating a charge imbalance. The charge will flow away by means of a current, or will build up before escaping via an electrostatic discharge. The correct humidity ensures that the energy dissipates via the water in the air and prevents a build-up of electrostatic charge.

  • Materials don’t stick together

  • Reduces static shocks, which can halt production

  • An extra step in fire safety when working with highly flammable materials

COMFORT

The correct humidity level further provides a more comfortable climate for the personnel. Dry air causes irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat, as well as allowing viruses to spread more easily. All of these complaints are relieved by a good humidity, which is an extra bonus to contact lens wearers and to those who suffer from asthma or respiratory complaints.

CONFIDENCE

Many plastic processing companies still suffer unnecessarily from issues with static electricity. As Dutch market leader in custom-built humidification systems, we have been helping businesses to find the right humidity and reduce their production losses since 1991.

  • Our experts co-wrote ISSO 55.3 (the guidelines for Legionella safe installations)

  • All our installations comply with the ISSO 55.3 Publication guidelines

  • TÜV Nord have certified that our installation systems comply with VDI 6022

  • We meet the guidelines as outlined in the TNO Hospital Report

  • We have the biggest maintenance network in Benelux

Wood is sensitive to moisture levels. It shrinks, warps, and cracks. A Cumulus installation creates a stable humidity. That is essential for our production process and our KOMO certification.
