High-pressure humidification in AHU

High-pressure humidification is a highly effective method commonly used in Air Handling Units (AHUs). The Cumulus high-pressure humidifier features a precise control system, ensuring stable temperature and humidity levels without significant fluctuations. This makes it an ideal solution for environments where maintaining strict humidity control is essential, such as hospitals, data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, and industrial processes.

High-pressure humidification has the following advantages:

  • Low energy consumption
  • Durable
  • Flexible and easy to scale
  • Legionella safe
  • Low maintenance
  • Autonomous control
  • Free adiabatic cooling
  • Low noise level
  • Proportional capacity control
  • Fully integrated system

Evaporative humidification

The evaporative humidifier is a compact solution specifically designed for Air Handling Units (AHUs) with limited space in the humidification section. Its efficient design requires minimal space for water evaporation, allowing seamless integration into such systems. By evaporating water into the air, the humidifier effectively increases the humidity level.

In addition to maintaining optimal humidity levels for your building, the evaporative humidifier also provides an added benefit: adiabatic cooling. The cooling effect generated by water evaporation enhances indoor climate control, making it a versatile and energy-efficient choice.

The evaporative humidifier grants you the following advantages:

  • Ideal for AHUs with a short or even absent absorption trajectory
  • Can also be used for adiabatic cooling
  • Easily installed, dismantled, and maintained
  • Low operating costs
  • High yield
  • No height or width limits
  • No humidification capacity limits
  • Direct water and recirculating water options

Adiabatic cooling

Adiabatic cooling

Adiabatic cooling is an energy-efficient method often integrated into air handling units (AHUs). By leveraging the natural process of water evaporation, adiabatic cooling lowers air temperatures before it is distributed into the building or facility.

Indirect Adiabatic Cooling in AHUs

In AHUs, indirect adiabatic cooling is a popular approach. The system cools the air by evaporating water, and a heat exchanger transfers this cooling effect to the incoming air without mixing the streams. This method ensures hygienic operation while providing efficient cooling.

Adiabatic cooling has the following advantages:

  • Energy savings
  • Increased cooling capacity
  • Reduced water usage
  • Retrospective installation
  • Short payback period (often below 1 year)
  • Prevents overload and shutdown
  • Low maintenance
  • Flexible and scalable
  • Installed very quickly within a short lead time

Heesen Yachts

Project

Humidification plays an important role in the wood industry. This is also the case at Heesen Yachts in Oss, the Netherlands. Due to humidification, Heesen Yachts is able to ensure quality products for its clients. It is crucial not only during the yacht construction, but also while crafting and fitting the furniture and applying varnishes.
